Discover Nyerere National Park, a Tanzanian gem teeming with wildlife. Boasting one of Africa's largest lion populations, the park also hosts abundant elephants, crocodiles, zebras, hippos, giraffes, wildebeest, and buffalo. Lucky visitors might spot leopards and African wild dogs. Admire the dramatic landscape of rocky hills, lakes, and the palm-fringed Rufiji River. Despite being one of East Africa's largest protected areas, the accessible area offers a concentrated safari experience.

Early Morning Game Drive: Don warm layers and embark on an early morning game drive. The soft, warm light provides perfect photo opportunities as you witness active wildlife in their natural habitat. Even if you're not an early riser, this experience is worth the exception.

This afternoon you'll go on a guided game drive through semi-arid bushland and palm-fringed lakeshores of Nyerere. Watch for animals like elephants, lions and even African wild dogs.

Accommodation Day 1

Selous Mapumziko Lodge

Lodge Just outside Nyerere National Park

Selous Mapumziko Lodge boasts a prime location on the Rufiji River, offering stunning river views and sunsets. Extended stays allow guests to fully experience the Selous Game Reserve through diverse safari options, including game drives, walking safaris, and boat safaris, each providing unique encounters and insights into the ecosystem.

Day 2

Zanzibar Island

We will start early with a 2.5-hour bush walk led by a local expert, returning to the lodge for breakfast. Afterward, we'll prepare for a boat safari on the Rufiji River and return for lunch. We will then arrange a village visit before departing for your flights, which concludes our service. Extensions to your stay are possible, subject to additional charges.

You'll probably see crocs and hippos on your Rufiji River boat safari in Nyerere National Park. Keep an eye out also for other wildlife along the riverbank.
