Day1: Dawn Departure & Rufiji River Immersion.**
Wake up, have a very early breakfast at your hotel in Dar es Salaam. Have all your luggage packed and ready. Drive from Dar to a Nyerere national park. Transfer to your lodge and quickly settle in. Embark on an afternoon boat safari along the Rufiji River. Observe crocodiles, hippos, diverse birdlife, and other animals coming to drink. Enjoy sundowners on the river before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Activity Day 1

You will discover the Rufiji River by boat, and encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers. Some 1000 bird species have been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. These are typical of miombo woodlands, predators birds and the bird water supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.
